Seventeen-year-old Constan Dudan is one of the masterminds behind this revolutionary machine. "You can program it to grow wheat, oats, alfalfa, which are highly nutritious for both humans and animals, or almonds and corn, which grow like a type of grass," he explains. The machine was designed to produce food in extreme climate conditions, particularly after natural disasters like floods, droughts, and fires. This summer, for instance, massive wildfires rendered the soil infertile, making traditional planting and harvesting impossible.
The Hydro Food machine is not only efficient but also sustainable. It recycles water, saving 90% of what would normally be used for a crop.
