When we first heard about Amed from ABK case, we were intrigued. His humble computer cases promise to keep your ego in check, offering a premium look and feel at a modest price. But what makes them truly unique is the story behind them. Amed operates out of a small machine shop in Turkey, crafting each case with care and attention to detail. His creations are a testament to the idea that you don't have to sacrifice quality for humility.
Our journey started with a Maximus z790 hero motherboard from Asus, a modest $550 investment that laid the foundation for our build. We chose the 14900 KS, Intel's fastest chip, but decided against the monolithic block aesthetic, opting instead for a more understated mono block. This decision set the tone for the entire project: a balance between performance and simplicity.
Building a computer is never without its hurdles. We encountered issues with cable management, fitting tolerances, and even a broken component or two. But these challenges only fueled our determination to create something that was not just functional, but also a statement of our values. We replaced stock cables with gold and silver mod ones, added a pre-water block from Ino 3D, and even custom-bent tubing to achieve the perfect fit.
At the heart of our humble computer is a 1600-watt titanium power supply, an investment that might seem at odds with the theme of humility. However, we offset this with custom cable modding and a focus on efficient components. The result is a system that's both powerful and elegant, a true embodiment of the "humble" ethos.
