Are you on the hunt for the perfect pair of wireless earbuds? Samsung's latest offering, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, might just catch your attention. With a design that mirrors Apple's AirPods, it's a surprising move from the Korean tech giant. Let's dive into what these new earbuds bring to the table without giving away the entire story just yet.

What makes the Galaxy Buds 3 stand out? Available in sleek white or silver, these open-ear buds come with a price tag of $180. While they may resemble the standard AirPods, Samsung claims they include active noise cancellation—a feature that, admittedly, hasn't been very effective in open-ear designs. Will the Galaxy Buds 3 break the mold, or is this another case of marketing hype?

Comfort is a key factor in any earbud design, and the Galaxy Buds 3 do not disappoint. They fit securely and comfortably in my ears, even more so than the AirPods 3. The pinch controls, similar to the latest AirPods, and swipe controls for volume adjustment are a welcome addition for ease of use.

Now, what about the flagship model, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro? Priced at $250, these buds are designed for those who prefer noise isolation. They come with multiple ear tips and boast impressive active noise cancellation, at least in the limited time I had with them. The sound profile is enhanced by a 10 mm Dynamic driver paired with a separate planar tweeter, promising clear, high-frequency sounds. The inclusion of dual amps is aimed at reducing wireless hiccups—a feature that could make a significant difference in the user experience.

The stems of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro aren't just for show; they house lights that indicate pairing mode and the 'find my buds' feature. These buds also excel in call quality, thanks to three microphones and a voice pickup unit, ensuring your voice is heard loud and clear.

Both models boast Bluetooth 5.4 and IP57 water and dust resistance. Battery life is decent, with the Pro lasting up to 7 hours without ANC and 6 hours with it on, while the standard Galaxy Buds 3 offer 6 hours without ANC and 5 hours with it enabled.

For Galaxy smartphone users, the buds support Samsung's seamless codec, capable of delivering high-resolution audio streams. The default codec is AAC, which should suffice for most users.

While some may be disappointed by Samsung's apparent design imitation, I see it as a strategic move. After all, the company's testing indicates that this design suits the majority. But what are your thoughts? Do you prefer stems or the traditional earbud design? Share your opinions in the comments below.
