Would Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race have swayed your vote? Imagine a political landscape devoid of his presence—would you have stood by him, or would your vote have been cast elsewhere? The question lingers in the minds of many, a testament to the complexity of political decisions and the weight they carry.

Joe Biden, a seasoned patriot, made the brave decision to step down, recognizing the reality of the political climate. His age, a concern for numerous voters, seemed to shadow his potential to campaign effectively against the formidable Donald Trump. Yet, his tenure as president showcased a commitment to the people, a dedication that earns respect, even from those who question his policies.

But what of his policies? There's a growing concern about President Biden's stance on Palestine and his unwavering support for Israel, an issue that resonates deeply within communities like mine, where the plight of the Palestinians is a focal point. The question then arises: who should take his place?

Enter Kamala Harris, a candidate who won the primary votes and presents a compelling choice. Her fundraising prowess is undeniable, and with Biden's support, she could leap ahead of the competition. However, the impact of Biden's policies on the economy, particularly the rising costs of living, casts a shadow on Harris's prospects, riding as she is on the coattails of a president whose policies have been contentious.

The question of whether Harris can defeat Trump is a loaded one. She's a strong candidate, but popularity is not her strong suit. As an executive director of an organization, I know women can lead, and I would support her if she is nominated. Yet, the elephant in the room remains: is America ready to elect a black woman to the highest office? The bias, racism, and sexism are undeniably present, but we've seen progress with Barack Obama's election. The country craves something new, fresh, and capable.

Kamala Harris, with her tough exterior and advocacy for women's rights, embodies this change. Her stance on abortion rights and her relatable persona evoke the image of a familiar face at a family cookout. Yet, her past as an attorney, particularly her approach to marijuana-related offenses, raises questions. Nevertheless, her time in California and her commitment to the people have earned her my vote. I'm excited to see what she's been doing behind the scenes, and I believe she'll be a great president.

As we stand on the precipice of a new political era, the question remains: will Kamala Harris be the one to lead us into this new world? Only time will tell, but the hope for change is palpable, and the potential for a new era of leadership is within our grasp.
